Fantasy or dream i will take anything.

•October 27, 2009 • 8 Comments

Finally there is time for a little update, the last weeks have been
very action packed hence some time offline and a lack of
updates.

The new albums have been slipping out there and many thanks
if you have purchased any of the double-vinyl albums,
the 3CD set is released in three weeks from now.

I have created another video for the new release be sure to
check it out, maybe there is a chance you are on there if you
have passed through here in the last 12 months. It’s all in a
dream and features my heroes of Berlin and beyond.

sadly, the future is no longer what it was” (vimeo.com)

Right now many reviews of the new releases are slipping into
my inbox. After all these years I still have no idea how i should
react to other peoples interpretations of my work.

Today showed that even with a calmer and more thoughtful
output (compared to much of the V/Vm output) that i can still
polarise opinions. So i present two online reviews of my work
for you to check out if you wish.

the line of best fit (review)
paristransatlantic.com (scroll down a little for the review)

Usually the only thing i ask for is people listen to the audio and a
response is made on the work alone, with that in mind if i check
out the above reviews i think one person listened and one didn’t
and maybe based a review on past audio and attitudes alone
which is strange but can happen if there is a hidden agenda at
play.

That said to me both reviews are always the same and elicit a
response usually of numbness in myself as i have no idea how
to react anymore to press except to say that it’s a miracle in a
day and age where there is a complete media overload to get
any interest at all in anything.

I haver had a lot of comments made directly to me about the
releases via email so keep them rolling in anytime, i will try to
collate some of them and put them online.

Right now there is just a little time left to say i have a small show
in Paris this Sunday night (the 1st of November) at the Pompidou
Centre.

The last show of the year will be in Wien on the 21st of December
at the Rhiz Club.

The have invited a number of people to remix
their source audio all of which will be released
in due course in a limited edition boxset.

My versions have just been uploaded and you
can download them for free at their website.

Be sure to let me know what you think of the
remixes.

A longing to be absorbed for a while into a different and beautiful World.

•September 3, 2009 • 2 Comments

A video showing the fragile nature of modern day living
and loving in Berlin. Made on location in Berlin by
Jorge Ballarin and featuring an edited version of
“a longing to be absorbed for a while into a different
more beautiful world”.

I really hope you enjoy this one, the audio was born
from nights like this, truely.

The track appears on disc 3 of the CD set and on the
third double-vinyl album.

I will be working with Jorge on his upcoming
documentary film “Manolo” and also on a series
of short films “Sun Nuts” the latter which will
depict life here in Berlin in all its glory.

More videos and news really soon.

Moving with the slowness of a race in a dream

•August 11, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It has been one month since the last update and
now almost everything is ready to go.

Sorry for the elongated wait on the new releases,
but it will all be worth it, the test pressings
(seen above) are all in and sound amazing thanks
to the wonderful work of Lupo at Dubplates and
Mastering here in Berlin.

If you pre-ordered many moons ago, I will be in
touch within the next ten days with the latest
news.

A new mailing list is being set up this week and
there will be a mailout which will include some
exclusive mixes not on any of the upcoming
release versions.

Apart from that things are very busy and very
good here, with many things also on the
horizon.

Be in touch anytime and await the update and
thanks a million as ever for the interest and
support of all my work.

H.A.F.T.W. – Paintings by Ivan Seal

•June 30, 2009 • 2 Comments

One of the biggest pleasures in the creation process of the
new releases has been involving Ivan Seal who through
a series of paintings has totally captured the feeling of all
the audio providing a stunning visual element to all of
the upcoming releases.

I have known Ivan for a long time and we are both from
Stockport and find ourselves living the dolce vita in Berlin.

Be sure to check out more of Ivan’s work at his website.

tonight is the last night of the world
to the place between the twilight and the dawn

double vinyl 12″ – part two

when did our dreams and futures drift so far apart ?
not even nostalgia is as good as it used to be
sadly, the future is no longer what it was
stay light, there is a rainbow a coming
and nothing comes between the sadness and the scream
i’ve hummed this tune to all the girls i’ve known
not as she is now but as she appears in my dreams

double vinyl 12″ – part three

memories live longer than dreams
don’t sleep i am not what i seem, i’m a very quiet storm
a longing to be absorbed for a while into a different and beautiful world
days in the wilderness

we all won that day, sunshine
and at dawn armed with glowing patience, we will enter the cities of glory (stripped)
